Skyrim: Epic Music and Epic Bug

November 11th, 2011

There is an epic bug in the main menu of the Skyrim. I couldn’t continue the new game but couldn’t restart the game because the music was TOO EPIC. Had to listen till the end. Maybe it was careful thought of the developers? I appreciate it šŸ˜‰

For the bug, many people actually reported this problem and the fix is just delete and reinstall the game data. I deleted both patch 1.01 and game data and didn’t apply the patch. Just installed the data and started which worked out fine.

Then, in the game, this bug happened. It just quit itself. I cannot believe this kinda thing is allowed. Ah, classic Bethesda. So far I am not impressed. Time to apply that patch which might have been the cause of the first problem above.

COD MW3 MP Gameplay Videos

November 8th, 2011

Got the game from the midnight launch. About 100+ people were there I believe. Kinda getting hang of it, but still it is a quite different game from others. Like I mentioned at COD BO, it’s like a candy. Sweet and fun, but kinda difficult to replace a proper meal. I will try to put more hour into this game than the COD BO.

Dark Souls Playcast Part 3: Naked Axe Then The Damn Dragon

Playcast: Dark Souls Playthrough with Commentary

October 5th, 2011

This is Dark Souls video playthrough with a live commentary I am starting. Since I knew I was going to scream a lot while playing this game, I decided to record it with voice also.

The goal is just play and have some fun in this cruel game. I platinumed Demonā€™s Souls so I kinda know what to do. But that confidence was destroyed already when I entered the first world (after the introduction world).

Only gripe I have right now is, somehow the graphic does not have that ā€œfeelā€ from Demonā€™s Souls. Itā€™s a little hard to explain, in the previous game, each level has such unique feel to it. The castle one has extremely monotone color and the vast emptiness surrounding, that gives such great feel of isolation and loneliness that trapped in a castle without any living thing (well.. except undead and demons). This one does not have that feel yet.

However I am sure I will discover more and more.

The first video is first 30 min gameplay without any edit.
The second video is edited to reduce time and skipping some mundane battles.

Dark Souls Collectors Edition Pre-order Screw-up from Newegg.com

October 3rd, 2011

The new egg screwed up the preorder of Dark Souls Collectors Edition big time.

This is the email from Newegg.com,

Dear Valued Customer,
We’re contacting you today regarding your recent pre-order for Dark Souls Limited Edition. Unfortunately, due to an inadvertent order error, the only version Newegg will receive is the regular edition. In an attempt to prevent any confusion upon delivery, and because we understand you may have placed your order with the intention of receiving the Limited Edition, your pre-order will be voided.

We apologize for any inconvenience that you may experience as a result of this situation. As a valued Newegg customer, you are receiving a token of our appreciation for your understanding and continued support, in the form of a $20 promotion code that you may use toward the purchase of the regular edition of Dark Souls or any other game you might be interested in. This promotion code is designed to work only with the Newegg account associated with this email address, it can only be redeemed once, and it will expire on 12/31/2012 at 11:59pm PT.

The problem is, now the CE is completely sold out everywhere, no way to get this at all. Only if they informed this earlier not THE DAY BEFORE THE RELEASE. Great job Namco and Newegg. Better to pickup the regular version with the same price minus the 20 bucks credit.

Uncharted 3 Beta Subway

October 3rd, 2011

Naughty Dogs and Subway are doing a promotion that you can join the Uncharted 3 multiplayer Beta a month early when you buy a 30oz drink from Subway. It is a cute effort actually which only costs about $1.89 (here in southern california). You will get a code for the subway website and from there, you can get different codes for multiplayer beta key and items (one per drink). The exp earned during the beta will actually stack once the game releases (as they say). The problem is there are already high level players like 30+ level, who has all sort of different boosters and weapons. It will be rude awakening for other new players when the game release next month.

The graphic wise, it looks and plays better than the previous beta. The previous beta had some graphical problems, like texture pop-in, character model break-up, a little bit of jerky movement when you do melee attack from the top of the objects, etc. So far, in this beta, nothing noticeable.

The gameplay wise, it is solid but the bullet spread is too much and the guns are too weak. It is very difficult to kill a person. Also from time to time, you will notice a severe lag.

It looks like there are four new maps in this beta. Two of them are shown here.

Battlefield 3 MP Beta Gameplay

September 30th, 2011

The beta is open finally. Fun so far. This video is a whole match of Rush mode, Metro map. Turtle defense at the end.

+ nice graphic
+ big map with multiple routes
+ nice sounds effect with guns and explosion

– jerky movements sometimes
– knifing system

Need more time with this but will purchase probably.

Resistance 3 Beta MP Gameplay: It’s All About the Kill Streak?

August 31st, 2011

R3 Beta became open to everyone last night. Still only two game modes are available, Team Deathmatch and Chain Reaction.

The killstreak oriented gameplay might not be for everyone. It can be fun but also it may get old very fast.

Smaller maps and smaller number of players encourages more of strategical holding (aka camping).

The Auger (obtained after 6-kill streak) is way too powerful.

Still this was beta. The game will be released September 6.

Uncharted 3 Beta Co-op Adventure Gameplay: Syria

July 11th, 2011

This is first play through of the beta Coop adventure mode. A classic Uncharted setup. The enemy patterns are a little bit too predictable. The last half (climbing part) is fresh but too short. Overall, it is an entertaining mode, but a little bit short on overall length. Assuming that the chopper part is cut for the beta, the whole mode will be great.
